So yeah, have a GT40.

Kinja'd!!!

Anyways what I was getting at was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . “Alabama Chief Justice Orders Judges To Enforce Ban On Same-Sex Marriage.”

I’m sick and tired of hearing of this shit, its gone through just about every federal court in the land, its hit the supreme court and every one of the has ruled in favor of same-sex marriage. Get over it, move on, all you are doing is cementing your place in history books as an asshole, everything from common sense to judicial precedence say you are going to lose.

What do you stand to gain from this? Is it to prove your faith, because from what I’ve read you’ve done that a lot, doesnt seem you have much more to prove. All I see is you are putting people in a very tough position, even ignoring gay people that are affected. You are publicly telling your colleagues to break the law, a law in which someone has already gone to jail for breaking in the same exact way, a law in which federal prosecutors say will be enforced against these judges. And back to the question at the beginning, I simply dont understand what you stand to gain here, what do you gain from stopping a group of people marrying? Personal satisfaction? Success on some sort of vendetta on people getting married? What is it?

I’m from there, though I don’t live there anymore...however if I did live there, I think my head would explode. My personal opinion is that Judge Roy Moore should be stripped of his office, because he has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t understand the law.

Selective enforcement of federal law is the new normal for states. See: marriage licenses, drug laws, immigration, etc.

In some cases it makes sense for those states though, increased revenue, decrease in administrative costs, things of that nature. But here I dont see the benefit of perusing this.

If you’re repressing your own homosexual urges, you tend to get very angry at the idea that others might not feel the need to repress theirs. Basically, pretty much every person who opposes same-sex marriage is bisexual at the very least. I guess that kind of self-delusion is necessary to also make claims about marriage ‘traditionally’ being between ‘one man and one woman’ despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Well, there’s also the category of people like me, who’d like to see all state-sanctioned marriage abolished - but we don’t think anyone should be treated differently from other people, just that the state should get its nose out of everyone’s private life.

Proponents of this policy would say protecting their conscious is a benefit.

Once we establish the precedent that states can ignore Federal law for financial gain and convenience, the Establishment Clause isn’t a compelling argument again’t the Chief Justice’s order.

I’ve been saying this for roughly a decade now - it’s unconstitutional to not provide same sex marriage.

It’s really just that simple. They are letting a religious perspective effect the laws of the country. Separation of Church and State is a pretty clear line drawn saying that’s not the way this works.

I understand 100% a church saying no thanks we’re not going to marry you. That’s defended by their religion. I don’t agree with it, but it’s their choice.

A judge should be required to render the same services to all people no matter their sex, race, religion, etc.

It’s un-American to ban same sex marriage and it’s pretty god damn easy to see it.

Throw this ass hole in prison.

I don’t know about capable. I just know that homophobes always turn out to be gay. Next time you meet one, try asking what it is they dislike about homosexuality. They invariably have very lurid, detailed pictures in their heads. And you know what we call men who fantasise about other men having sex, right?

There are a good number of people in this world who’ve fucked up their own life so badly that they begin to take joy in dictating what is right or wrong for others. Mandating that somebody’s life be “wrong” for no other reason than that it makes them feel comfortable that at least they’re not “wrong” in that way.

But it’s true. I’ve never heard a single person with properly homophobic views who was not pretty obviously repressing their own sexuality.

There’s a long history of homophobia being a strange gay subculture, too.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-…

As I said in another comment, ask anyone who opposes same-sex marriage what it is about homosexuality that they don’t like, and they will immediately make it plain to you that they have spent a lot of time imagining men having a bit of cock-and-bum fun. People who imagine other men having sex with each other are what we call ‘gay’. It really is that simple, even if they can’t admit their sexuality to themselves.

It’s a sweeping generalization that’s targetted at a bunch of assholes for whom such a generalization would be perhaps more offensive than a sweeping generalization about gay people would be to the gays. I’m all for it, personally. Give ‘em a taste of their own medicine. Maybe if all homophobes were accepted to be gay by society, they’d be less vile ;)

They are trying to hold onto how the federal government was originally set up. With states having more controll over things and federal government overseeing. Its like how states are making marijuana legal but its still illegal federally. Such as people cannot bring weed in through borders even in states where weed is legal.

“I don’t buy the idea that gay men have an extra capacity for hate.”

Nor do I. But I do buy the idea that people who hate themselves lash out at the world.

For what it’s worth, I also think a lot of racists are similarly raging at the world for being happy while they can’t be happy with themselves, which goes a long way to explaining the crossover between racism and homophobia.

I don’t know. Usually they turn out to be misogynists.

A lot of what disgusts straight people about homosexuality is that it doesn’t adhere to the gender roles they idealize. That a man would lower himself to the position of a woman, for the sake of another man, pretty much terrifies them (and don’t even suggest that a man might do this willingly for their own pleasure). There’s also then they have to question if another man would want to lower them down to women’s level. This both pisses off and scares men (and sometimes women too).

I’m so ashamed of this country. Why can’t my LGBT friends just do their thing? The people who support gay marriage bans belong to a contingent of bigots who can’t stand the progressive direction the US is heading in. They’re upset because they’re WASPs who want the 1950s status quo back: Supremacy over all minorities - non protestant religions, gays, black americans, the poor, and immigrants of color. And don’t forget control over women’s bodies too.

Let me break down the discriminatory slang:

1. “All lives matter” - We don’t care about police brutality because we’re racist. I’ve even been told that “the libs are paying black people to protest.”

2. “Family values” - We hate gay people and we hate premarital sex. Pray the gay away and become a teen mom if you make a mistake.

3. “Freeloading (insert racial slur here)” - We’re selfish so we don’t want to help people who are less fortunate than us.

How anyone can hold any of these views and claim to have decent morals is beyond me. They’re closed-minded, indoctrinated white supremacists. I can’t wait for the USA to leave them in the dust.

It’s just become to be commonplace for people on the right to just plainly ignore federal law and declare that their land is not subject to the laws of the land. It’s idiotic. It’s like those ranchers who are failing so badly to try to be proud oppressors of US laws and common sense at times.

And without gay marriage, they don’t have much to rabble on about. What they can gain from gay marriage being banned is one thing they can just be proud about. They can’t have it banned all out (then they don’t have anything to shout about) and they can’t have it all legalized (they can only rabble about that).

And a lot of them follow the bible. But the bible has a lot of things that could be applied to nowaday life and some that can’t be remotely be applied to nowaday life, like the stuff on slavery.

they want a dream utopia where they rule all in a monarchy way. Sorry. No. That’s why we broke away from mother england.
